Thankfully, I’ve completed the M3A4 assignment. The next step is to build consistency and muscle memory when drawing mouths.

In anime-style art, mouths are usually much simpler than realistic ones. However, since anime styles are derived from simplified realism, I believe it’s important to start by understanding realistic forms first.

The mouth or lips can be broken down into five basic structures: four cone-like forms and one triangular shape located at the center of the upper lip.
