Hello, Sumine here! Today, I’m transforming a real-life character reference into an anime style. Let’s dive right in!

Sketching Stage

I started with a rough sketch using the techniques I’ve learned before.

You may notice that I avoided drawing hands and feet.

The reason is that I’m not yet comfortable with hand poses and anatomy.

Right now, my focus is on practicing facial expressions. Hands and poses will come later.

After finishing the rough sketch, I added basic details. The hair was the most challenging part for me.

Once the basic details were done, I moved on to the line art stage.

After finishing the line art, I applied the base colors first, then added Shadow 1, Shadow 2, and finally highlights.
